How to Make Pepperoni Chips or Crisps in an Air Fryer
Cris here.
We are always on the lookout for really great low carb snacks that we can use as dippers for our crock pot party dips. Most party dips are low in carbs but traditional crackers and chips are not. So when I saw this oven recipe for Crispy Pepperoni Chips, I fell in love with the idea of using pepperoni as a chip.
However, when we are on the road, using my oven is not a good option so I began to think through how I could use my air fryer and also my Ninja Foodi air crisp feature to whip us up a batch of our favorite crunchy low carb snack.
They turned out perfectly! So now I can have my low carb pepperoni chips at home AND on the go!
Notes on Air Fryer Pepperoni Chips
- We have tested this recipe using my air fryer and also my Ninja Foodi.
- Towards the end of cooking the chips will fly around the air fryer and stack on top of each other. Don’t worry, they are already crisped up and will be just fine. Just transfer to a plate or bowl to allow them to cool.

These are delicious! Have you tried a recipe with deli lunch meat slices in the air fryer? I haven’t been successful at it. Thanks!

Aunt Lou says
Sorry, we have not tried this with deli meat.

why does my ninja foodie grill smoke so much with these when air frying ? Am I doing something wrong?
Reply
Aunt Lou says
We haven’t had that experience. You can try adding a little water to the pan below the griddle to see if that helps.

How would you store them?
Reply
Aunt Lou says
We usually store them in a baggie in the fridge. Enjoy!

These were delicious! My air fryer is a different brand than yours but I made the first batch as per your instructions and the ones on the top tray were a little more done than the bottom tray. The second batch I made turned out better because I rotated the trays halfway through cooking time. Now I need to get more pepperoni to make more of these yummy snacks!Reply
Aunt Lou says
So glad you enjoyed these and figured out how to adjust the recipe to work best with your unit!

I made these in the Ninja Foodi digital air fryer oven. Took 5 minutes on 360. I used the air fry basket with the pan underneath to catch the drippings. They were delicious!
Thanks for the idea.Reply
